GRANITE

forms from the slow crystallisation of magma below the surface of the earth. It is composed of quartz and feldspar with minor amounts of mica, amphiboles and other minerals. This composition gives granite a red, pink, grey or white colour with dark mineral grains visible throughout the rock. Because granite is heat, scratch and stain resistant and it polishes up into a beautiful stone, it can be made into a counter top, kitchen island, tiles, bathroom vanity, etc.
